Augusta Market. AUGUSTA, May 20. — FINANCIAL. — Gold — Brokers are buying at 136 and selling at 137. SILVER — Brokers are buying at 128 and selling at 131. SECURITES — Georgia Railroad Stock unchanged at 66 and 67. COTTON — The market appears to be in an unsatisfactory state, there being some demand, yet quietness prevails. We quote from sales to-day, which amounted to 205 bales, Middling 24a24 1/2, and Strict Middling 2s cts. Sales as follows: 1 at 20; 2 at 22; 9 at 23; 1 at 23 1/2; 71 at 24; 8 at 24 1/2; 91 at 25; 18 at 25 1/2; and 4 bales at 26 cents. Receipts, 61 bales. WEEKLY STATEMENT. FINANCIAL AND COMMERCIAL. — The number of visitors in our city the past week, at the Railroad convention, caused quite an active trade among our retail dealers, and as the stocks of our dealers were well assorted, they were supplied on very accommodating terms. There was also quite a good trade among our jobbers to the merchants in the interior. GOLD AND SILVER. — The demand was quite moderate during the past week. Brokers buying Gold at 135a136 and selling at 137, Silver buying at 128 and selling at 130a132. EXCHANGE. — Checks on the North par at our Bank, outdoor rates, 1/2a1/4 discount.
