Visit to Senior New Year’s

Day Tradition.

Officers of the Muncie Military Sector and their wives, in keeping with an old army custom, called on Col. and Mrs. P. W. McAbee and their house guest, Miss L. Hemingray, of Covington, Ky., at their home, 824 East Washington St., on. New Year's Day. Col. McAbee is the senior officer in the sector and commands the 335th Infantry.

The military nature of the recep­tion was .evidenced by the large number of guests who appeared in uniform. No invitations were sent in advance. The custom of paying respects to the sector's senior offi­cer on New Year’s Day probably will be continued.
