ANNOUNCE CARD
AT HIGH SCHOOL
Principal Outlines Closing
Activities.
Central High School activities for the remainder of the year were announced by L. S. Martin, principal. Commencement will be June 4. Other senior activities will be the distribution of the senior magazine, May 22 or 29; senior dance, May 29; senior chapel, May 29; baccalaureate services, May 31; senior picnic, June 2 and senior dinner, June 3.
The complete calendar follows: Exchange chapel April 16; carnival for library, April 10; senior mothers' tea, April 16; college conference day, April 21; Dramatic Club play, April 24; Rotarian dinner in cafeteria, sixth period, April 28; Dr. Garfield Oxnam, president of DePauw University, April 29; junior pay dance, May 1; Exchange dinner, May 7; band contest, May 8; tentative program cards due, May 8; tentative course cards in from junior high schools, May 8; Kiwanian dinner, May 13; junior prom, May 14; Rotarian honor banquet, May 19; light opera, May 22; Senior Magazine ready for distribution, May 22 or 29; senior dance, May 28; Memorial Day program, May 28; senior chapel, May 29; baccalaureate, May 31; senior picnic, June 2; senior dinner, June 3; commencement, June 4. Dates have not yet been set for two events, the senior all-school party and Dramatic Club dinner.
[dollar:$50] To Fund.
Efforts are being made at Central High School to raise last year's pupil subscriptions to the Community Fund, [dollar:$50]. Subscription cards were delivered to teachers Monday. Talks were given by home-room teachers Monday, explaining the purposes and accomplishments of the Community Fund and the room’s plan of contribution. Feathers will be given pupils and cards given rooms subscribing 100 per cent. Final reports will be due Wednesday or Thursday morning.
Tuesday Programs.
Group senior vocational guidance programs will be held Tuesday from 8:15 to 8:40 a. m. Speakers will be Minot K. Holmes, of the Hemingray Glass Company; Fred J. Petty, of Ball Brothers' Company; Miss Nellie G. Brown, of the Ball Memorial Hospital Nurses Training School; Miss Jean McFadden, of the Powder Pull Beauty Shop, and Miss Pauline Warfel, of the Muncie Public Library. Pupils will attend the meetings in which they are interested.
A meeting of the senior class will be held Thursday in room 221 from 8:15 to 8:30 a. m.
The Friendship Club will meet at the Y. W. C. A. at 4 p. m. Monday.
Each home room has been asked to have a representative at a meeting of the executive board of the Girls' Service Club, Tuesday, at 7 p. m. in room 324.
A Girls' Service Club tea will be held in the library Wednesday at 4 p. m.
The junior class will meet Wednesday from 8:15 to 8:30 a. m. in the auditorium.
