In the early 1900s there was a gas boom, and Pendleton became home to several glass factories along with other manufacturing plants. Above is the lid to a large glass butter jar made at the Pendleton Glass Tube and Pipe Works of Indiana. Several examples of glass products can be found at the Pendleton Historical Museum. The museum, located in Falls Park, is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays from through October.
