A GOOD TIME

Miss Hemingray's Charming

Party

Pleasant Surprise at the Entrance

of a Welcome but Unexpected

Guest.

In honor of her guest, Miss Marion Reid, of Rochester, N. Y., Miss Llewellyn Hemingray, assisted by her father, Mr. D. C. Hemingray, in a charming manner entertained a number of their friends last evening, at Heath's hall. The feature of the occasion was an informal dance, which was most delightful. The ladies appeared in handsome and expensive gowns, who, with gentlemen in their conventional dress suits, dancing to the irresistible music by Prof. Daisy and Mrs. McDowell, made the prettiest of scenes. Still there was one incident which was more powerful than the music, that was when Miss M. Carroll Hemingray. who had been in Cincinnati for some time, unexpectedly by everyone, made her appearance in the hall.

The ladies and gentlemen were all dancing when she entered, and those nearest nearest the door saw her made a grand rush for her with screams. It was quite amusing as those in the other part of the hall saw the movements, heard the noise, and immediately deciding the cause must be a conflagration, attempted to make their escape also. Soon the situation was explained, and Miss Carroll forgiven for the terrible fright she had given them. The dance continued until eleven o'clock. When Mr. Hummel, the caterer served a fine three course luncheon.

Miss Hemingray received in a gown of white organdie over white silk, carrying American Beauty roses. Miss Reid was gowned in white organdie over white silk, low neck, and sleeveless. Miss Carroll appeared in black silk lace, black spangled lace trimming, black aigrette in her hair. The guests were:
