A hard wind and hail storm passed over the Indiana gas belt last week. The Sheldon-Foster glass factory at Gas City was badly damaged about the roof and sides by the hail, the damage being placed by the local papers at $2000, and the American window house at Gas City had the ventilators blown away and the U. S. Glass Co. factory suffered in a small way. The smoke stack at one of the Fairmount jar plants of Wilson & McCulloch was blown down and the roof was partially ripped off the Butler window house at Upland. The hard rain caused a portion of the bottle tank at Millgrove to cave in.
