HINDS-GRAY NUPTIALS


In the presence of four hundred invited guests, at the First Christian church last evening, was solemnized the wedding of Miss Josephine Gray, of this city, and Mr. Peter Atwood Hinds of Indianapolis. At 8 o'clock the bridal party marched down the aisle of the church to the harmonious music of the wedding march, played by Miss Nadine Wilson, of Chicago. pianiste, assisted by the Montani orchestra of Indianapolis. The impressive ring ceremony was used by Rev. J. Cummings Smith of the Tabernacle church, of Indianapolis, who performed the ceremony assisted by Rev Joh MacNeill, of this city.

The bride was becomingly attired in a white satin crepe gown, trimmed with Renaissance lace. She wore a veil and carried lilies of the valley. Miss Mary French Field of Chicago, was the maid of honor. She wore a gown of white lace, over taffeta.

Misses Eliza Chambers, and Elizabeth Cooper, of Indianapolis; Fannie Turner, Emily Olcott, Florence McNaughton and Carroll Hemingray were the bridesmaids. They were attired in white point d'esprit lace over white taffeta with girdles and collars of white lace and velvet. They wore short tulle veils and carried American Beauty roses.

Mr. Hinds was attended by Mr. Frederick Whitlock, of Indianapolis. The ushers were Mr. George Getz and Mr. William Engler, of Chicago; Mr. R. E. Walker and Mr. E. B. Ball, of Muncie; Mr. E. B. Fox and Mr. J. F. Daniels of Indianapolis.

Miss Gray was given away by her father. Mr. James H. Gray, of Ander­son.

The ceremony was one of the most beautiful and impressive that have ever been witnessed in Muncie. The church was profusely decorated for the occasion. with palms and American Beauty roses. The guests present composed the society people of Muncie, Anderson and Indianapolis, and the assemblage was one of the most brilliant social gatherings ever witnessed in the city. The music of the organ, and the low strains of the harp and . . . [illegible text] . . . added a sweet undercurrent to the words this made the couple man and wife.

Miss Gray is one of the most prominent society women of the state. She is known in the social circles of Muncie, Anderson and Indianapolis. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Gray of Anderson.

Mr. Hinds is a resident of Indianapolis, where he is a buyer for the Indianapolis Street Railway company. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hiinds, of Chicago. The couple will reside at 2400 Central avenue, Indianapolis.

Mr. and Mrs. Hinds leave this morning for a trip through the east. The presents were numerous and costly.

Immediately following the wedding ceremony last evening, a reception was given to the five hundred invited guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Meeks, on East Washington street. The house was brilliantly lighted, and the decorations were profuse. The porch was shielded by an awning which reached to the gate, where carriages brought and took away guests by the hundreds. Montani's orchestra furnished music for dancing.

Shoemaker, Miss Shoemaker, Miss Correla Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Ruddle, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Farrell, and Mr. La Fevier, of Indianapolis; Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Vandevender, Mr. and Mrs. T. N.
