To Discuss Matter of Gas Pipe Rates

— Night Session was Held —

Valuations Made Monday.

The county board of tax reviewers held its first night session last night, the object of the meeting being to give an audience to State Commissioner Wingate, of Indianapolis, who desired to hear what the natural gas companies had to sat on the rating placed on pipe by the local board. The local corporations have been making strenuous objections, and Mr. Wingate came here to listen to the objections and assist the local board in reaching a conclusion. Representatives of the several companies were present last night and argued that the rate on pipe when assessments were made, was fictitious. No decision was yet reached by the board. The following valuations have been made on property:

     Hemingray Glass company, $11,665.

     J. H. Smith & Co., $6,850.

     Indiana Bridge Co., $39,420.

     American Express Co., $350.

     Over's Glass Factory, $12,075.

     Midland Steel Co., $90,950.

     Muncie Wheel Co., $15,235.

     United States Express Co., 205.

     Palmer Steel Co., $13,909.
