a Feature Yesterday


Gill and Lytle Playing a Fine Game —

Contest Will Not be Decided

Until Today.


The tennis tournament at the Country club yesterday attracted a large crowd of interested spectators and the scores show some spirited contests regardless of the excessive heat.

The match could not be completed and will continue today, when the victors and club representatives will be decided.

Following are the scores made in the singles and doubles:

SINGLES

     Gill vs. Koerner, 6—3: 6—3.

     Johnson vs. Lytle, 6—2; 4—6; 7—5.

     L. Turner vs. Gill, 6—4; 7—5.

     Johnson vs. Streeter, 7—5; 6—4.

     J. Turner vs. Swaim, 6—3; 6—3.

     L. Turner vs. Swaim, 6—4; 8—6.

Lock Turner and Ed Johnson will play the final off in singles today and both are playing well.

DOUBLES

     Johnson and Streeter vs. Greyer and Koerner, 6—3; 6—4.

     L. and J. Turner vs. Gill and Lytle, 7—5; 6—6; 1—6.

     Johnson and Swaim vs. Hemingray and Powers, 9—7; 6—3.

     Gill and Lytle vs. Johnson and Streeter, 6—1; 6—1.

Gill and Lytle are playing doubles and the winners of the next two matches of doubles will play them for the prize, three pin rackets, which cost $20.

Luncheon was served in the club house, and in the evening a dance and display of fireworks were the attractions until midnight.
