Muncie Golfer Defeat

Mr. Shinkle

Crack Cincinnatian Fails in His Efforts

to Defeat Walker and Powers at

Country Club.

There was an interesting game of golf, at the Country club links yesterday afternoon, between Mr. Clifford Shinkle, of the Cincinnati Golf club, and Messrs. Power and Walker, of the Country club.

Mr. Shinkle is a relative of the Misses Hemingray, and is visiting here. He is one of the crack players of the Queen City, and challenged the two gentlemen of the Country club for a game yesterday, he to play against the best work of both.

The game was spirited from the start, with a large representation present, and the party witnessed the defeat of Mr. Shinkle, seven up. He made the eighteen holes in 121 strokes, while the score of Mr. Walter was 115 and that of Mr. Powers 112. The ground was of course, strange to Mr. Shinkle, and he made a good score, but the Muncie players did even better than that.

Luncheon was served at the club by Mr. Walker to the party, and last night dinner was served at the club house in honor of Mr. Shinkle.
