AMONG THE GLASSWORKERS

OF OHIO AND INDIANA

The last isue [sic] issue of the Commoner and Glassworker contained the following notes of interest to Ohio and Indiana glassworkers:

Thirty-six shops are employed on pressed ware at the Evansville, Ind., Glass company’s works. Fruit jar ma­chines will be installed.

The Sargent Glass company, of Ev­ansville, Ind., will turn out machine-made electric goods in addition to lamp chimneys.

The new factory of the Blackford Glass company at Vincennes, Ind., which is rapidly nearing completion, will be practically fire proof.

The Vincennes, Ind., Window Glass company have completed all necessary repairs and will begin operations as soon as a wage settlement is made.

The Kokomo, Ind., Glass Manufac­turing company’s plant is in full oper­ation and the members of the firm expect a record-breaking run.

The Humphrey-Dearth Glass company, of Paris, Ill., are at work and have an increased capacity over last year.

The Kokomo, Ind., mold and model works are enjoying prosperity.

A number of Marion chimney work­ers are considering the project of leas­ing the North Vernon, Ind., chimney plant and operating it this fire.

The tank of the Imperial Glass com­pany, of Bellaire, O., will be started in the near future and full production of the plant will then be turned out.

The new flint factory of T. A. Rodefer, Bellaire, O., is a fine modern plant in evrey [sic] every respect. It will hardly be ready for operation before the new year.

The Crystal Glass company, of Bridgeport, O., are running steadily and will put a new line of imitation cut ware on the market before long.

The Industrial Window Glass com­pany, formerly of Fowlerton, Ind., will locate at Independence, and not Caney, Kan.

The new furnace which is being built for the Hemingray Glass com­pany, Muncie, Ind., will be completed in about two weeks.

Preliminary steps have been taken to increase the capital stock of Rau Brothers, Fairmount, Ind.

One tank at the Winslow Glass company's works, Matthews, Ind., started last week.

It is reported that the Libbey plant, Toledo, O., will start with its full force in the very near future.

The Indiana Bottle and Glass com­pany, Cicero, Ind., opened the season last week with a good start. The out­look is bright.

The Pendleton, Ind., Window Glass company's plant is rapidly nearing completion.

Ground has been broken for the erec­tion of another furnace for the Root Glass company, Terre Haute, Ind. It will be ready the first of the year.

Fire has been placed in the green tank of the North Baltimore works at Terre Haute, Ind.
