The last issue of the American Flint was received and contained some very interesting and beneficial reading. We wish it a long and successful life.
The new year started out bad in Muncie for some unfortunate flints employed at the Chas. Boldt Glass Co., which was destroyed by fire, and about fifty flints were put idle by the fire, but a temporary roof is being put over the small tank and it will be started some time in the near future.
Ball Bros. have put the damper on their automatic white liner tank, and it looks favorable for a long shut down, as the machine was so successful the firm has an enormous stock on hand, and they have also erected and are successfully operating an automatic shear on a bottle machine.
Everything is running nicely here and looks favorable for a steady run for the remainder of the fire.
We have two members on the relief roll, Br. Charles Arduser and Bro. Edward Jones.
Bro. Leo Wehrley was called to Celina, O., on account of the sickness and death of his mother.
Raymond Carmichael and Harvey Hickman were initiated by Local Union No. 23 on the January 2, and Brother Hickman met with a very bad accident last Sunday evening, when his wardrobe caught on fire and destroyed all the wearing apparel he possessed, and Brother Hickman was dressed in a barrel the next day.
Brother Jack Kelley spent Christmas with friends in Cincinnati.
The writer announces his marriage to Miss Stella Kettlewood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Kettlewood, of this city. Mr. Kettlewood is a member of the A F. G. W. U.
