THE LAST CALL

Death Relieves Mrs. Jane

M. Hemingray

Wife of the Head of a Muncie Glass

Factory Passed Away Yesterday

at Her Home.

Mrs. Jane M. Hemingray, wife of Ralph Hemingray, the well-known glass manufacturer, died yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Walker, 411 East Gilbert street, where the Hemingray's made their home. The remains will be taken to Covington, Ky., for internment, but no arrangements for the removal will be made until today.

Mrs. Hemingray was a lovely woman, was possessed of all the qualities that make a true wife and mother. She was popular in Muncie during the seven or eight years she lived here, and for a time was prominent in society. Eight year ago she became ill and gradually grew worse. Tender care and the best physicians obtainable failed to better her condition, except at intervals. Mrs. Hemingray finally entered a sanitarium in Cincinnati, but medical skill failed in its attempt to assist her. She was then brought back to Muncie and for months has been carefully nursed by her husband and daughters. Saturday her condition became worse and yesterday morning she gave up all hope of life. Death relieved her suffering shortly after 3 o’clock in the afternoon.

Mrs. Hemingray was a Miss Matthews before her marriage with Mr. Hemingray almost twenty-five years ago and resided in Maysville, Ky. Her brother was the late Claude Matthews, governor of the state of Indiana. She is survived by a husband and two daughters, Llewellyn and Carroll. Her mother, Mrs. L. P. Matthews, and a brother and sister, Lewis P. Matthews and Miss Lida Matthews, reside in Covington, Ky. Another sister, Mrs. D. M. Massey [sic] Massie lives in Chillicothe, Ohio.
