MUNCIE, IND.

Everything is running along smoothly at the Hemingray plant at the present, but we have but one tank in operation, and it looks favorable for a steady run. The company has a new insulator press which was tried last month and seemed to make the ware as good as the workman does, and it looks as though some of our men will be put out of work if the machine is a success. We have had more than our share of sickness and mishaps in the last four weeks, for many of our brothers have been on the relief roll. Brother Peter Concanon was sick for a period of eight weeks with the fever, and Brother Gus Fenska was attacked with blood poison, and Brother John Kelley met with a serious accident while dismounting from a street car and received a fractured wrist. John Butler has been sick and unable to work for a few weeks. Brother Earl Brown, a young member of ours, met with a very serious accident while riding home on his wheel, and was the victim of a runaway horse and received a fractured rib and was badly bruised. We have a few more fortunate members who have been investing their money in real estate. Among them are Brother William Shettlesworth, who purchased a handsome new home on East Fifth street, and Brothers Elmer Hilton and Arthur Hilton have also purchased handsome homes on East Willard street.
