The Commercial club held its regular weekly meeting in the Patterson block last night and transacted business of great importance.

A committee was appointed to confer with the managers of the C. I. & E. railway with a view of devising means for securing a right-of-way into the city, and if satisfactory plans can be made to take them before the council. The members of the committee are F. C. Ball, R. J. Beatty, Bert Whiteley, George F. McCulloch, A. L. Johnson, A. J. Meeks, J. C. Johnson, R. Hemingray, O. B. Bannister and James Boyce. The same committee was requested to take up the matter of a union station, the increasing of switching facilities and other railroad matters. The same committee will meet the general freight freight agents of lines entering Muncie at a conference in Indianapolis on November 15, with a satisfactory coal rate into this city.

A. L. Johnson, B. W. Bennett, J. C. Johnson, George F. McCulloch and R Scott were appointed a committee on nominations for officers for the ensuing year. Mr. G.A. Richizn was admitted to membership of the club.
