Carroll Hemingray attends picnic in Gilbert's Grove

PICNIC AT GILBERT'S GROVE.

Yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock a party of Muncie's society people drove to a point near Gilbert's grove, four miles west of the city. Baskets were taken, filled to the brim with viands satisfying, and at dusk the supper, replete in service and elegance, was served under the wide-spreading branches of the trees. The hours were whiled away in sketching, kodacking, fishing (?) and many other diversions. The return trip to the city was made at 9 o'clock. The picnickers were:

Wayne, Clara Gill, Clara Koons, Sarah Kirby, Maude Neely, and Messrs. Fred Harrington, Indianapolis; Carl Ganter, Akron, O.; Frank Gass, Robert Lytle, Dr. Wallace, Dr. Spickerman, Walter Howe, Carl Oeserlee [sic] Oesterle, Ray Johnson, Charles Mavity, Will Myers, Walter Baker and Albert Richey.
