MUNCIE, IND.

By Walt Claspell.

The Hemingray Glass Co. is having a hard time keeping pressers and gatherers. Seven brothers have quit in the last two weeks. The company gave the laborers and boys a 15% increase in wages the last of February. Business is still good and we expect the two tanks to work until the last of June.

We were glad to have with us at our last meeting, Wm. P. Clarke. His visit was a surprise to us, but we were very glad to have him with us anyway. Brother Clarke spoke for about 35 minutes on trade conditions. Call again, Brother William, we are always glad to see you.

We were sorry to lose from our ranks Brother Geo. Matheson Sr., better known to the trade as Geo. Taylor. Brother Matheson was 65 years of age. He was a charter member of Local Union No. 23, a loyal member of our Local Union and a staunch union man. Brother Matheson has been sick for a long time, not being able to work for about four years. He passed away March 15.

Brother Geo. Brass has taken a pressing job after being away from the trade for a couple of years.

Brother Allen Jennins is wearing the smile. It's a boy, eight pounds. Wife and baby are doing fine.
