MUNCIE, IND. By Walt Claspell.
There isn't much to be said this month. News is scarce around here. We reinstated Brother Ed Knecht and obligated Mike Carmichael at our last meeting. Many of the shops are losing time on account of small help and gatherers. The outlook, as far as orders are concerned, is good. But no factory can run, and won't run, without help and at a loss. The following resolution regarding the death of our late Brother Matheson was adopted at our last meeting: Whereas, The Infinite Creator of all things and existences, the gracious Ruler and Disposer of all events, has summoned from earth unto the world beyond our Brother George Matheson; and Whereas, Each member of the Local Union feels our bereavement when we remember his kind and gentle manner, and the warm attachment he felt for each co-laborer. Resolved, That in the death of him, our fellow-worker, we have lost a kind and worthy member and each one of us a true friend who always had a pleasant smile and a kind word for us all. Resolved, That while we bow in humble submission to the will of God, we offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family who are bereft of a kind and tender husband and father. May they ever look forward to that meeting in the realms of peace and love, where partings are no more; being consoled by the assurance that the memory of him whom they esteemed so highly will ever be held in loving remembrance by us all. Resolved, that these resolutions be spread upon the minutes, a copy presented to the family, and a copy furnished the American Flint for publication. Respectfully submitted. CYRUS HERRON, DAN CUMMINGS, FRED. GILTNER, Committee. |
