Marriage to McAbee. With

Whom She Had Eloped.

Miss Mabel Hart, of Cleveland, who was recently divorced from Philip McAbee, of this city, will soon be married to John Gilchrist, whose family owns a number of freight boats plying on the great lakes. The Hart-McAbee-Gilchrist story is like that told in the fairy, books.

Miss Hart, who is the daughter of Frank Hart, a millionaire wholesale milliner, was wooed and won by young Gilchrist a little more than two years ago. The match had been made by her parents, but her true love had gone out to Philip McAbee, a flame of her childhood days. On the eve of the wedding the young woman eloped with McAbee, with whom she was allowed to live but a short time. When they returned to Cleveland they were not given the usual parental blessing and forgiveness. Instead the irate father of the girl kidnapped her and took her to his home. McAbee was forbidden to even call.

It was seen that the young married couple could not become reconciled with her parents, and McAbee came to Muncie, where he has remained. After securing her divorce from McAbee, a few months ago, she had her maiden name restored. Since that time Gilchrist has been pushing his suit, with the result that their engagement has been announced. Although jilted at one time, Gilchrist has been persistent, and will take as his prize the heir to the milliner's millions.
