MUNCIE, IND.

By Walt Claspell.

Lack of small help is being noticed at the Hemingray Glass Co., and no doubt will be a source of great trouble for the company before the end of the season. The company rearranged the wage list for the laborers and boys, which meant a raise of about 12% per cent for the latter.

Shipping is still brisk and everything looks good for a steady run until the last of June and perhaps we will have to work longer.

At our last merting we elected Cy Herron as our executive. Brothers L. Carmichael and H. Hickman withdrew from the race, leaving Brother Herron the only nominee, so he was elected by acclamation.

Brother Harry Bowman, formerly of Local Union No. 2, was reinstated and Dallas Miller was obligated.

Brother Bert Reno was in and out, having worked one day.

Well, brothers, it will soon be time to go and hear old man umps holler "play ball." Hemingrays will not be in the Saturday afternoon league this year, at least we don't think they will. We are working two shifts this year where we worked three shifts last year. We are not fortunate enough to get a half holiday on Saturday, therefore some of the brothers who played last year will have to work every Saturday afternoon, giving us no chance to put out a strong team in the field. Last year we finished in fourth place. If such a thing should happen as us getting to play this year we will try and land a little nearer to the top.

Brother Cecil Pervus is on the sick list with lung trouble.

Brother Charles Knecht is also sick, but we hope to see them back in a few days at least.
