Owens-Illinois Asks Lots Be

Vacated,

 

There were no objectors Tuesday when the board of public works and safety conducted a hearing on the petition of the Owens-Illinois Glass Company for the vacation of lots in the vicinity of the plant. It is pro­posed to build a factory addition on the lots that would be vacated. The board confirmed the resolution.

Provision is made for the vacation of Ninth St. from Macedonia Ave. to Oakland Ave.; Shipley and Brotherton Sts. and Walling Ave. from Ninth to Eighth St.; Mock Ave. from the south line of Tenth St. to the alley between Eighth and Ninth Sts., and alleys.

The board directed the depart­ment of engineering to prepare as assessment roll showing the benefits and damages of such vacation.
