MUNCIE, IND. By Walt Claspell.
Conditions at the Hemingray Glass Co. plant remain about the same. The automatic carrier in will, no doubt, be permanently installed. Sanitary fountains will also be installed soon, we hope. At this writing both tanks are running and we can't say when we will get our vacation. Shipping is still good, weather fine and small help plentiful, gatherers being scarcer than any other help. Several of the brothers have quit and gone elsewhere. Brother John Harvey is working at the trade again after being away eight years. He was one of the three out of 73 who had principle enough to walk out and not scab when the strike was called on the Indiana Union Traction Co. lines. He was a motorman. Bro Dick Gill is back after a visit at his home in Virginia. Brothers Hunt and Pace have quit. Brother Ed. Jones has a new daughter.
Resolution of Sympathy.
WHEREAS, God in His mighty wisdom and knowing all things best, has seen fit to remove from this earth our brother, Charles Carson; and WHEREAS. In the death of Brother Carson we have lost a faithful brother, one who did all he could for the good of his Local Union and who was with us for 18 years; and WHEREAS, His father, mother, wife and brother have gone before, leaving only a brother and sister and the brothers of Local Union No. 23 to mourn his loss; therefore, be it Resolved. That the brothers of Local Union No. 23 take this means to extend to his brother and sister their deepest sympathy in their hour of great sorrow; and be it further Resolved, That this resolution be placed upon the records of our meeting, a copy be sent to his brother and sister, and a copy sent to the American Flint for publication.
