The observance will be carried out by both the organized and unorganized veterans of Muncie on Saturday, Nov. 11.

George Sherry has been named chairman of the committee to secure bands and drum and bugle corps and he announced today that prizes totalling [sic] totaling $450 are being offered and that he expects organizations from all parts of Indiana to compete here. The first prize for the band or bugle corps will be $200; second, $100; third, $75; fourth, $50, and fifth, $25.

Mr. Sherry today was mailing invitations to all veterans’ organizations in Indiana asking them to take part in the competition. Because of the value of the prizes he expects a heavy response.
