Albert James Gladding II

ODESSA -- Albert James Gladding II passed away peacefully in his residence the morning of Tuesday, December 28, 2010.

Albert was born in Oakland, Calif. on July 16, 1927, to Augustus L. Gladding and Ruth Clark Viehmann. He served in the U.S. Army's 11th Airborne division in World War II, returning to civilian life to learn the family business at Gladding McBean in Lincoln, Calif., later co-owning Gladding Ceramic Insulator in San Jose, Calif.

He moved to Odessa, Texas in 1983, where he worked as an aviation lineman for Wagner and Brown, retiring at the age of 70.

Survivors include his wife and partner of 40 years, Billie Jo Gladding; children, Albert James Gladding III of Concord, Calif., Adriane Gladding of Odessa, Michael Tharp of Granbury, Texas and Kelley Bradshaw of Odessa.

Albert was the best partner a wife could have and the best father a child could ask for. If you knew Albert, you loved him.

Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and online condolences may be sent to acreswestfuneral.com.
