Eugene R. Atwood, secretary and manager of the Atwood Faience Company, of Hartford, Conn., writes August 14: "I am the last man in the world to cry 'hard times,' and can assure you that I believe there is at hand a period of prosperity, due to natural causes rather than to tariff legislation. The general sentiment in this section is in favor of a reformed currency, which would, I believe, cause a 'boom.'"
