                                                                                          MUNCIE, IND., Sept. 14, 1919.

Mr. Wm. P. Clarke, Toledo, Ohio.

DEAR SIR AND BROTHER: — Local Union No. 23 presents a name of Earl Brown, a member of the G. B. B.A., to become a member of the A. F. G. W. U.

Mr. Brown was a former member of our organization, having worked in the machine jar department. He was obliged to join the G. B. B.A. in 1912 at Anna-Cortes [sic] Anacortes, Washington when the organization was given jurisdiction over that factory. Mr. Brown is at present working under our jurisdiction as a filler-in gathering insulators. He is a very capable workman and worthy of our consideration, and it is with the unanimous approval of the members of local union No. 23 that we recommend his admittance into our organization. Trusting the trade will vote favorably on this applicant and again assuring you that he will prove a credible member if admitted, we remain,

                                                                               Very truly yours,

                                                                                          CYRUS HERRON,

                                                                                          RUSSEL CARMICHAEL,

                                                                                          ROBERT BAILEY,

                                                                                                      Committee.
