MUNCIE, IND.

By Harvey Hickman.

At the Hemingray plant there are two tanks working while one is being repaired, to start as soon as it is finished. The men have taken their two weeks' vacation in relays. One bunch takes two weeks, then another, so by the last of August they will all have their summer vacation and be ready for another year.

The stork visited Brother Glen Tharp's home last month and left a 10-pound girl, of which Brother Tharp and wife are very proud.

Brothers Ollie Barth and Leo Wehrle, who represented Local Union No. 23 at the Atlantic City Convention, returned and say they have something good for Local Union No. 23.

The writer, who recently attended the convention of the Farmer-Labor party at Indianapolis, Ind., sees no reason why there will not be a heavy vote cast for the nominees on the Farmer-Labor ticket.

Organized labor in this vicinity is expecting to have the biggest Labor Day celebration that was ever pulled off. The Hemingray and Glasscock baseball teams of the Saturday Afternoon League are still tie for first place. The Hemingray team lost one game to Muncie Products, which was caused by a black cat from Arcadia, Ind., coming to this city to see the game. The brother referred to is Elmer Hilton, so the members of the team have asked me to inform Brother Hilton not to visit Muneie any more while they are playing ball.

On August 12 the H. C. Fry Co. county branches of the Farmer-Labor party of the eighth congressional district met in the city of Dunkirk for rhe purpose of nominating a man for congress on the F.-L. P. ticket, and as I knew a man whom we could depend on to fight the workers' battle I nominated Harvey Harshman of Dunkirk, who was the choice of all delegates. Now Brother Harshman is out to fight our battle. Let's get behind him on election day and put a Flint worker in Congress.

Brother George Brass has been mentioned as the county treasurer on the F.-L. P. ticket, the writer having declined the nomination.
