MUNCIE, IND.

By Harvey Hickman.

Everything is going along about as good as can be expected at the Hemingray Glass Co. since we have changed our working hours.

On June 7, Local No. 23 submitted 12 different propositions to the Hemingray Glass Co. to be taken up at their conference, in which the most particular one was to do away with the three-shift system and go back to the two-shift system, which is a more desirable way to work. We also gained nearly all we asked for, including an increase ranging from 10 to 82% and now we have two tanks running on the two-shift system and every one going along pretty good. It seems as though all the boys are better satisfied and more determined to get in a good fire. Tank No. 2, which shut down a few weeks ago for repairs, will be ready for operation again about October 4, as they have already a wood fire in it now.
