Anacortes to be put into operation next month

One of the important factories of Puget Sound will perhaps be put into operation within the next month. We refer to the big glass factory at Anacortes. This means much to the entire Western coast as more than one-half of the glass now used here must be shipped from the East, thus adding a cost above the manufactured goods here of from $15 to $85 per ton.

There is an abundance of raw material here, and it can be manufactured here so cheap that it will knock out all competition from the East. The Journal is pleased to see this important business enterprise located so near to Burlington and trust that it will soon be a success financially. -- Burlington Journal.
