The Anacortes Glass Company will resume operations at its plant next Monday. The fires were started in the furnace last Wednesday and by the beginning of next week the manufacturing of glass bottles will be resumed.

The company started up about a month ago but owing to the fact that the furnace needed repairs which could not be ascertained until the fires were burning, was compelled to shut down temporarily until the repairs had been made.

This work has been accomplished and Manager Edward Pearson stated today that the company is preparing to do a large business.

The first carload of bottles shipped to Olympia was so satisfactory that a second was ordered and shipped from Anacortes this past week. Other orders are beginning to pour in assuring a large and substantial industry in Anacortes which will mean much to the city.

The glass blowers began returning early this week and by Monday a force of about forty will be at work.

A number of the men during the shut down secured temporary employment at Georgetown. Among the married men who are back in town with their families are: W. Nelson, Rich Nelson, Chas. Hoevelman, Marx Routzen, F. Nelson and others.
