ANACORTES GLASS PLANT
STARTS OPERATIONS AGAIN
The Anacortes glass factory, the city‘s most distinctive industry, started up again on Tuesday evening after being shut down since last June and has orders enough ahead to insure a steady run until next July.
The plant started up with the smaller of its two furnaces. This one has been increased in size and is being operated night and day, giving employment to a crew of between 15 and 20 skilled workmen. The glass factory is now making flint glass bottles and is turning out a product of high quality, giving the best of satisfaction to customers.
During the shutdown the plant was overhauled, improvements were made and the factory was put in shape for a steady run until next July, working both night and day shifts.
