GLASS PLANT
RUNNING AGAIN
WORK IS RESUMED AT SOUTH-
INDUSTRY WHEN CARLOAD OF
SODA ASH, LONG OVERDUE,
ARRIVES FROM EAST.
After a shut down of several weeks on account of a lack of soda ash, the Anacortes glass factory resumed operations last Monday evening with a full crew and orders enough ahead to assure a steady run at full capacity for months to come.
Several weeks ago the plant was obliged to shut down because of the failure of a carload of soda ash, long overdue, to arrive from the east. This shipment finally arrived and fires started under the furnaces a week ago, were hot enough to begin making glass last, Monday evening. The plant is busy turning out large orders for flint glass, its product having made an excellent reputation for quality in the glass market.
