Bolt Insulator
|
Called a bolt-end insulator, the unit is designed to shield projecting ends of transformer support bolts. Its purpose is to protect personnel from the less obvious danger of bolts that are grounded through a grounded transformer housing.
Insulator is made from porcelain, chocolate glazed, with a metal thimble in the center threaded for 5/8-in., 11-threads per in. bolts. It is said to be efficient and neat in appearance.
