Stewart Elected

President of

Kimble Glass

 

William J. Stewart has been elected president and general manager of the Kimble Glass Co., it was announced by Carl R. Megowen, president of the Owens-Illinois Glass Co. of which Kimble is a subsidiary.

Headquarters of Kimble Glass are at Toledo, O. and Muncie, plants are located at Vineland, N.J., Columbus. O., Chicago Heights, Ill. and War­saw, Ind.

Stewart takes the place of Ray­mond H. Mulford, president since 1956, who is transferring to the administrative division of Owens-Illinois. Both men are vice presi­dents of the parent company.

Stewart has served in Owens-Illinois plants in Terre Haute and Gas City as well as Huntington, W. Va. and Alton, Ill. He was named O-I director of personnel administration in 1955 and vice president the following year.

It was also announced that John P. Kearney is to head the new Industrial and Electronics Divi­sion of Kimble Glass. He is a Kimble vice president and has been general manager of the Electronics Division. He was in charge of the development work on color television tubes and other new glass products.
