Fire broke out in the Kimble Glass Co. plant, 1700 S. Mace­donia Ave., at noon Monday.

A plant official blamed spontaneous combustion resulting from the intense heat in a fire polisher for the blaze, which ignited the roof.

He said most of the loss came from suspending machine oper­ations in the plant for about 30 minutes during the blaze.

Firemen got the call at 12 noon and were out 24 minutes on the run.
