49 workers at Kimble to receive service awards at annual banquet

To Receive Awards

The 17th annual Kimble Glass Co. service award banquet will be held Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the ball­room of the Hotel Roberts and 49 Muncie employes of the Owens-Illinois branch plant will receive recognition for their service to Kimble Glass and predecessor companies.

The program is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and approxi­mately 175 persons are expected to attend the event. The 49 people who will receive service award pins represent a combined total service with the company of 1,030 years and nine months.

Jack Connelly, manager of the Administrative Service Depart­ment of Kimble Glass, will deliver the main address at the event and Ed Langas will serve as toast­master.

Others who will attend the ban­quet are all persons retired under the company's Service Retirement Program, members of the 25-year Pioneer Group and their wives, Onlzed Club Executive Council officers and plant supervisors.

William Myers, forming depart­ment, has the longest service record with a total of 45 years and six months. Another forming department worker, Harry Jones, has the second longest service record, 40 years and eight months.

Others who will receive 40-year service awards are Floyd McCor­mick, Earl Hiatt Sr. and Lester Hahn.

Pins for 35 years of service will be presented to William Arm­strong, William Brown, Charles Clevenger, Henry Herbert and Herbert Smith.

Cecil Brown will be the only employe to receive a 30-year serv­ice award.

The 20-year group includes Clif­ford Burton, Marcus Corn, Joe Dame, David Dews, Hubert Dick­ens, Charles Fair, Joe Haller, Carl Hunnel, Clifford Hutchens, Homer Johnson, Lloyd Snyder, Glen Stinson, Jesse Swaim and George Warner.

Pins for 15 years of service will be presented to Hollis Campbell, James Carr, Earl Clark, Percy Croswell, Robert Fair, Earl Hiatt Jr., James Houk, Don Isenhart, Kirby Johnson, Robert Mil­ler Jr., Paul Rees, Rex Sayers, Paskle Simmons, Paul Warner and Polly Wood.

On the honor list for the first time, each with 10 years of serv­ice, are Kenneth Blacksten, Rose Anne Browning, Rader Deegan, Ed Langas, Glennis Lewis, James Palmer, Forrest Phillips, James Walling and Merrill Wilson.
