Appointment of W. B. (Curly) Achenbach as director of business planning and analysis for the Kimble Glass Company, Owens-Illinois subsidiary, was an­nounced today by R. H. Mulford, president of Kimble.

Mr. Achenbach, who has been assistant comptroller for Kimble, will devote his time and efforts to problems and opportunities of a non-routine nature which have a major impact on the develop­ment of Kimble’s business, Mr. Mulford said.

Mr. Achenbach is a native of Taylorville, Ill., and an alumnus of the University of Illinois, where he received a bachelor of science degree in business management.

He joined Owens-Illinois as an industrial engineer at the Muncie plant in 1943 and has served on accounting, auditing and comp­troller assignments in Muncie, Columbus, Toledo, and Vineland, New Jersey.
