Glass Co. Now

 

The Owens-Illinois Glass Com­pany at Toledo announced that its subsidiary here, the American Structural Products Company, has changed its name to Kimble Glass Company, and on June 1 will acquire the business and assets of the Kimble Glass Division. Net assets of the subsidiary will then total more than $20,000,000 with total employment more than 5,000.

The Kimble Division produces glass tubing and rod, scientific laboratory glassware and con­tainer specialties, with plants at Vineland, N. J., Chicago Heights, Ill., Warsaw, Ind., and Toledo.

The name Kimble Glass has been widely-known in the glass industry from the time the original company was formed in Chicago, 1901. The company was acquired by Owens-Illinois in 1946. American Structural Products Company was organized as a subsidiary of Owens-Illinois in 1947.
