WILL BE PUSHED AHEAD DYKE'S NEW FACTORY WILL MAKE NEW CAMPAIGN NOVELTIES
The building plans for the main structures of the new Dyke Marble Company's factory to be located on the South Akron land syndicate's territory have been prepared. They are 40 by 100 feet and 50 by 70 feet. They will be frame structures and their construction will be commenced immediately. The new factory will form the nucleus of a glass industry for South Akron. This is the idea of the promoters. S.C. Dyke, it is understood, will be joined by his brother D.F. Dyke, of the Rand & McNally Company of Chicago. Mr. Dyke has charge of the machinery of this, one of the largest printing houses on the continent. His acquisition the new concern will be a valuable one. Mr. S.C. Dyke, who presented an innovation in campaign novelties four years ago, [1888] has laid plans for a unique line of this class of toy for this season. Clay and glass will be the fundamental materials which will enter into their composition. |
