A Little Strike
Some 15 girls employed at Dyke’s marble factory in the Steiner allotment went on strike today. The girls who have only been working three weeks claim they have not received pay for that time and moreover were cut in pay from four cents to two cents per thousand.
The managers say the girls struck without a grievance and deny that there has been a cut in their wages. They further say there will be no trouble in filing their places and that they will be running as usual on Tuesday morning.
