Strike Continuing
At Kimble Glass
The Kimble Glass Co. manufacturing operations remained at a standstill Wednesday, with the continuing strike of moldmaker members of Local 50, American Flint Glass Workers Union. Other locals of the Kimble plant are honoring picket lines set up by the comparatively small mold-maker group, 21 members.
The moldmakers strike which idled glass manufacturing operations at Ball Brothers Co. ended Sunday night when the AFGWU reached agreement with Glass Container Manufacturers’ Institute, and the National Association of Blown and Pressed Glassware, in Pittsburgh. Kimble is an "independent," not affiliated with either national group, and is carrying on local negotiations with its AFGWU moldmakers. The strike was placed in effect at Kimble last Thursday.
