Robert Elliott, one of the two men shot last Sunday morning by John Wilson, corner of Race and Longworth streets, died last Monday evening at the Hospital. No one was allowed to see him after Sunday morning, except his immediate relatives. The nature of his wound made it probable from the first that it was but a question of a short time when his death would take place. The scene at the home of the deceased in Covington when the news came was distressing beyond description. The shriek of the widowed mother as she fell into an agonized swoon was heard square around, while the cries and lamentations of the orphan sisters and brothers were pitiful in the extreme. Robert Elliott, or "Jack," as he was generally known, was about thirty-two years of age. From boyhood to manhood he has been employed at the glass works in Covington, and had always been regarded as a first-class glass-blower. His employers, the Messrs. Hemingray, speak of him in high terms, and share in the sorrow at his death.
