R. H. Mulford appointed general manager at Kimble Glass

Kimble Glass Co.

R. H. Mulford, a vice president of Owens-Illinois Glass Company, has been elected vice president and general manager of Kimble Glass Company, a subsidiary, it was an­nounced Thursday.

Mr. Mulford. formerly director of Owens-Illinois department of personnel administration, succeeds S. J. McGiveran whose new re­sponsibilities will be announced at a later date. Mr. Mulford will re­port to C. R. Megowen, president of Owens-Illinois Glass Company, who is also chairman and president of Kimble Glass.

In his new capacity, Mr. Mulford will be responsible for the produc­tion and sale of all Kimble Glass Company products including television bulbs, Insulux glass block, specialty glass containers, laboratory glassware, glass tubing and rod, glass insulators, and miscel­laneous press glass articles.

Kimble plants are located at To­ledo and Columbus. O.; Sayreville and Vineland, N.J.; Muncie, and Warsaw, Ind.; and Chicago Heights, Ill.

Mr. Mulford, whose home is in Toledo, has been with Owens-Illi­nois since 1933. He served as plant manager at the Los Angeles and Oakland plants before becoming general factories manager of the Pacific Coast Division of Owens-Illinois in 1946. He went to Toledo in 1949 when he was elected a vice president and appointed to head the department of personnel ad­ministration.

Mr. Mulford is a graduate of Stanford University and the Har­vard Graduate School of Business Administration.
