Kimble Glass
to Develop TV
Bulb Plant in East
Kimble Glass Company, subsidiary of Owens-Illinois, will develop one of the nation’s most modern television bulb manufacturing centers at Sayreville, N.J., according to an announcement made Thursday.
A plant, presently used by the Kaylo Division of Owens-Illinois for the manufacture of calcium silicate insulation material, will be taken over by Kimble. The Kaylo Division will concentrate its production at its Berlin, N.J., plant.
The manufacture of television bulbs will start after the work of remodeling and equipping the Sayreville plant is completed in September.
When fully converted and equipped the new plant will handle every phase of television bulb manufacturing from the production of glass to the forming and assembling of the bulb.
