29 Employes
of Kimble’s
to Get Awards
Twenty-nine employes of the Kimble Glass Company Muncie plant will receive service award pins in recognition of years of service with the company at the annual service award dinner Wednesday in the Hotel Roberts Ballroom. The banquet will start at 6:15 p.m. This will be the 13th consecutive year local employes have been so honored. About 150 persons are expected to attend.
The 29 who will receive pins have a combined total service of 570 years.
Two of the awardees will become members of the Kimble Pioneer Group — employes with at least 25 years of service — and will receive gold service award pins and watches. The two who will be honored are Ralph Marks and Joe Sheridan.
Brumback Gets 50-Year Pin
William Brumback will be given a 50-year solid-gold pin. Everett Barnett will receive a 40-year pin, while Garth Brown and John Macken will be awarded 35-year pins.
Thirty-year pins will be presented to Henry Himes, Eugene Macken, Carey Opperman, John Bauer, James Ullman and Howard Wilson.
The largest group to receive pins will be the 10-year employes. The first service award pins will go to Huston Boyd, Carl Brinson, Clifford Cavanaugh, Homer Clark, James Crisp, Herbert Dillon, Earl Henderson, Dorris Herbert, Richard Herron, Frank Joy, Lester Hare, Mary Massey, Charles Reagan, William F. Smith, William L. Smith, Pearl Swift and James Tincher.
Herman Carey will receive a retirement certificate.
Carl R. Megowen, president of Owens-Illinois Glass Company and president of Kimble Glass Company, will be the speaker.
Presentations by Bauer
The presentation of awards will be made by John Bauer, Muncie plant manager, and Fred Pinotti, chief engineer and assistant general factories manager of Kimble Glass Company.
Ed Langas, plant personnel director, will be the toastmaster.
Music will be provided by the Pacini Trio. Entertainment will include Vic Hyde’s musical act, accompanied by Tom Moriarity.
Receptionists will be Garrie Antonini, Ondies Austin, Rose Anne Browning, Clara Conner, Mary Jilbert, Irmgard Magner, Mary Jane Meyers, Rita Jones, Gladys Silence, Marilyn Ullman and Monetta Wolf.
Other company officials who plan to attend include E. B. Dennis Jr., vice president and general sales manager of Kimble Glass Company; E. P. Lockart, sales manager of Insulux Division; W. W. Wood, personnel director of Kimble Glass Company; D. E. Oren, administrative to general factories manager of Kimble Glass Company.
Others who will attend are former employes who have retired, members of the Pioneer Group, along with wives and friends, and Kimco Club Executive Council officers and plant supervisors.
