Monday will he “Squint” Alexander Day at Kimble Glass Company plant, Muncie, in honor of its superintendent who is retiring after fifty-two years.

Charles H. Alexander, who started with the Hemingray Glass Company, predecessor of the Kimble company, as a carry-in and stick-up boy at 70 cents a day, worked himself up through many positions to plant superintendent. Monday will be the last day for Squint on the job which he began at 13 years of age.

The Alexander tradition at Kimble will be continued by his son, Robert, supervisor of quality and specifications at the plant, a subsidiary of Owens-Illinois Glass Company.

The retiring superintendent and his wife, Nettie, who live at. 1321 South Ebright street, are also parents of a daughter, Mrs. Lois Hiron, employed in the personnel department of Warner Gear.
