Chiefs Meet
Personnel directors from all plants of the Kimble Glass Company will meet in Muncie Wednesday through Friday, the second such conference in the history of the company.
One of the main purposes of the meeting is to discuss ways and means that personnel departments can be of greater service to factory units and their people.
Hosts for the sessions to be held in the Conference Room of Ball State College Student Center will be John Bauer, Muncie plant manager, and the following members of the supervisory staff:
Earl Hiatt Sr., plant superintendent; Robert Pershing, service manager; Tal Merrill, industrial engineer; Harold Eastus, machine repair supervisor; Everett Whitlock, mold shop supervisor; Fred Johnson, purchasing agent; Kermit Bondy, plant auditor; Herman Holm, batch and furnace supervisor; Joe Sheridan, shipping supervisor; Eugene Macken, forming supervisor; Herbert Smith, packing supervisor; Jesse Swaim, mold control supervisor; Forrest Hazelbaker, plant engineer, and John Macken, Q and S supervisor.
W. W. Wood, Kimble Glass personnel director, and Wendell Mayfield, assistant, will be in charge of meetings. Both are from the general offices in Toledo, O.
A plant tour will be held late Wednesday afternoon. For many of the visitors this will be the first viewing of the manufacture of Kimble Glass Block.
Pat Coleman, promotion director from Muncie, will speak on "Community Relations" at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Speaker at the luncheon Wednesday will be Dr. L. D. Edmonson, director of guidance and counseling, Ball State College, whose subject will be "Counseling and Interviewing."
Personnel staff members from Muncie who will attend meetings will be John Rubley, employment manager and safety director, and of course, Coleman.
Additional personnel staff members who will attend a dinner Wednesday are Miss Polly Wood, personnel secretary, and Mrs. Clara Donner, plant nurse.
