John H. MacMillan, 305 Shellbark Rd., has been appointed personnel department manager at Owens-Illinois Glass Company’s Toledo, O., general offices, Tom M. Cox Jr., manager of O-I administrative services, has announced.
MacMillan has been supervising industrial engineer at the Muncie plant of Kimble Glass Co, an O-I subsidiary. MacMillan joined Owens-Illinois as an industrial engineer at Vineland. N.J., in 1947 and later served at plants in Warsaw, Columbus. O., and Muncie and at the Toledo offices.
MacMillan succeds [sic] succeeds Robert G. Ludwig who has been named to the newly created position of director of management development at Kimble in Muncie.
Ray H. Mulford, Kimble president, said Ludwig will be responsible for the development of management training programs as well as being secretary to the committee on Management appraisal and organization review.
Ludwig has been assigned in O-I's general offices since he joined the company in 1910. Before entering the personnel department in 1950, he served as rate structure supervisor for the Glass Container Division. He was named assistant personnel director in 1951, and manager four years later.
