Our Neighborhood
By Dick Greene
RAMBLINGS OF THE DAY . . . Ernie Parkison, 2215 S. Grant St., was reading the notations about cigar boxes, the wooden type so commanly [sic] commonly seen, and he hastened to call attention that Kimble Glass Company makes cigar boxes of glass.
|
Ernie, an employe of Kimble, brought one of them this way and asked. “Do you know what it is?
I promptly replied that it looked like a dish for beans.
The transparent glass box, with its glass lid, is among the products of Kimble, a subsidiary of Owens Illinois Glass Company. It holds 40 cigars and is sold especially at this time of the year to cigar manufacturers. It is a gift item.
