MINIATURE JUGS AND STONEWARE NOVELTIES.

In 1884, Mr. Samuel C. Dyke commenced making toy jugs, which, being placed upon the market, soon created such a demand that additional hands were employed and additional machines constructed, so that now 300 boxes, of 100 each, or about 30,000 toy jugs are turned out daily, finding a ready market, all over the United States, and in foreign lands, an order having been recently billed to Alexandria, Egypt. Eight machines, two kilns and 60 hands are now employed in the manufacture and packing of these novelties, including the small boy's delight -- marbles. Mr. Oliver C. Few is associated with Mr. Dyke, under the firm name of S. C. Dyke & Co. Works on South Main street.
